You still have some questions? Hopefully I've read your mind and you'll find your answer here! But don't hesitate to shoot me an email if my internal magic 8 ball got it wrong!
How many pictures will we end up with?
This really varies because lots of different things can affect our session both negatively & positively - time, weather, location, attitudes...nap times! For portrait sessions you'll typically end up with 250 - 500 images. For weddings and other events, it will be between 1000 - 1500 images.
What are personal use rights?
I grant you personal use rights with print and digital purchases. You cannot sell the photos for profit. You are granted printing rights and are welcome to print as many photos as you like. You may also post them on facebook or other personal websites, as long as you credit beautiful days photography and post a link to the facebook page or your gallery on the website. I retain the right to use them in my portfolio and for marketing purposes.
How long do I have to wait until I get to see these awesome pictures?
For portrait sessions, I'll try to get you a quick preview of 10 images within a week. For events and weddings, you'll get a preview of 20 images within a week. I always shoot for finishing up sessions in 6 - 8 weeks. But this can vary depending on the season and current work load.
How do you finish the photos?
Every photo gets color corrected in post processing so that the complete album flows together. Some images will only be color, some will be black and white, some will be so great they'll have to be both, and some are just so amazing that I have to play around for awhile so you'll get a few different creative edits to choose from! I also choose a few of the best images to post on facebook and create a blog post about our session.
Is the deposit refundable?
No. The deposit holds your date until the day of the session, event or wedding. For a wedding, the deposit covers the cost of the included engagement session.
So, I'm curious...nikon or canon?
Canon...all the way. I started with kodak, learned manual on an ancient fuji, and finally figured out the mysteries of life with a canon and haven't looked back since. (Sorry, can't spill...epiphanies are subjective)
Can you copy the way this other person shoots?
Each photographer has their own style which has evolved over years of shooting, learning and experience. It is impossible to imitate another photographer's style, nor do I want to. I stay with my style because it is what I have created and what I like. I want to be unique from the next photographer. I would always prefer my clients to hire me because they like my style and the way I run my business. If you have certain poses and shots that you like, keep them in mind for the day we shoot. We can definitely capture some of those ideas.
You mentioned a second shooter for my wedding...Do you think we really need a second photographer?
It definitely doesn't hurt! You will get twice the amount of coverage on your wedding day. If something were to happen to me, you would still have a hired, professional photographer ready and able to photograph your beautiful day. I think it is definitely worth the extra investment!
